Men of Valor

Getting tired of all those WW2 games? yea me too, well instead of stopping the trend developers are just moving to the next war, Veitnam.

GRAPHICS: 8
To be honest they can be rather bland at times.....most times. There gritty just like they should be for this kinda game, the enviroments are done good, which goes from forest to deserts. The gun models are lackluster, there decent  but not much detail, sometimes can be hard to tell the differnces between certain guns. The character models are good just there animations are blocky. The game has great particle effects and such, like when you get close to a fire you can see eveything getting all wavy, explosions are done nicely. Also with the ambient life in the game, it adds to the realism that this game offers.

SOUND: 9
Sound is done nicely. Voice overs are pretty good even with all the cussing thats constantly going on. With that said, this game can get very annoying with the VO's of the veitcong, i wanted to carve my eardrums out when in a early mission you were getting attacked by alot of veitcong and you kept hearing there screaming constantly. Besides that there well done with teh gun and explosive sounds.

GAMEPLAY: 8
The gameplay is pretty slow and seems kinda fixed since its basically, walk a path get ambushed, rinse lather repeat. The AI is good, they always take cover and move from cover to cover and even sometimes they are the cover itself. The enemy AI is better than your teammates AI, i once watched as my squadmate get killed by a vietcong that was kneeling right next to him. Aiming is easy, especially when you hit the L trigger, all you gotta do is wait till it gets as small as it can and aim at a head of a vietcong an shoot for a guarnteed instant kill, easily done since there aim is terrible. Theres alot of pre-scripted event, while cool and fun to look at can also be a pain since you gotta watch your distance and timing if you wanna survive them. This game is very immersive. Loading times are long but not pain stakingly long and during loading screens you get notes or videos on the history of the veitnam war.

CONTROLS: 8
There good but not perfect. Takes a while to get used to, learning curve of anywhere between 30mins to an hour.

REPLAYABILITY: 5
Sorry but the single player is the only reason to pick this up. The game is just to slow placed to make a fun multiplayer experience. Maps are big, too big in fact, too hard to find opposing players. Cool thing in multiplayer is the class system. Where you pick a class of soldier and you get weapons by what class you picked, everything from grunts to snipers.

OVERALL: 7.8
Was hard to decide what to give this game, either from a 7.5-8 and 7.8 just seemed the most fair and accurate. A fun game to play just not up to par with other games out, if you love MOH then you'll love this game. All the prescripted stuff is just amazing.
