Halo 2 (Lithium Review)

Finally, Halo 2 has come to X-Box players everywhere, after the long wait, we can finally get our dirty hands on this game. Im going to be brutally honest, and those of you that have played the game, may not agree with me.  To the review.

Graphics:
Okay, Ill even admit that these graphics are some of the best we have seen on the consoles this year. This time around, the vehicals are destructable, and look cool doing it. Great lighting effects and animations, but there is one annoying glitch in the game. When it cuts to a cinematic, there will be little to no textures in the picture for one or two seconds, and then the pop up again. Thats about the only thing I could find wrong with the graphics department. So ill give it 8.9/10.

Sound:
Once again, the sounds are really well done, from Master Chief's one-liners, to the sounds of guns firing, Bungie did an overall great job. I did think that some of the gun sound were a little weak, but that didnt really take me out of the experience. Some cool new music and bands have been added to the soundtrack, and it goes with the flow of the gameplay. Overall, the sound in this game gets a 9.3/10.

Storyline:
Well, FPS games are known for having weak to medicore stories. Though Halo 2's story was a jump up from most first person shooters, its still pretty generic. You are a super soldier fighting aliens that come from places unkown to Earth. Your main goal is to try to stop them from finding Earth. I cant tell you much without spoiling it, but I can say that the ending is a cliffhanger, and will dissapoint you. The fact that the game can be beaten in 6-9 hours doesnt help it out that much either. Overall, a 7/10.

Gameplay:
This is where the meat of the game lies, and it does it pretty well. The controls flow very well, and its fast paced and fun at the same time. The new additions include: dual wielding, this means you get to  hold two select weapons at a time, but you can not throw a grenade or melee attack without dropping one of the guns first. Also the game includes vehical jacking, where you get to "jack"(im so GTA) ghosts, banshees, or a lot of other vehicals from your opponents while in campaign or multiplayer. Now on to the multiplayer aspect; this saved Halo, and it does the same to Halo 2. This game has been massivley over-hauled, with new maps, new weapons, and X-Box Live support. Multiplayer, rocks! The pistol, AKA weapon of mass destruction, has been toned down, so you can no longer rack up 135 kills with the thing.  There have been some new maps added, and they brought back some old classics and remade them as well. 2-16 players can battle it out in CTF, slayer, juggernaut, phantoms, or one of many other gameplay modes. With the new additions, this is what will keep you coming back to Halo 2 over and over. 9.5 in this department.

Overall this game gets a 8.6 from me. I dont care what you Halo fanatics say, thats what I thought of the game.
