Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
Hideo Kojima is an artist, he brought a story about secret waepons and espionage to vivid new heights in Metal Gear Solid(Playstation)
and he brings his style of creativity and storytelling to the 2nd installment, Sons of Liberty...
Controls/Gameplay: The
controls for Metal Gear Solid 2 are almost identical to that of its predecessor with the exception of the First-Person View
Mode. This enables for heighten accuracy and a sense of realism to the game. Easy to learn.(However during some parts, button-mashing
is a necessity, also swimming pissed me off...) The gameplay is focused on stealth but be warned boss battles are fun, frantic,
and action-packed! (BTW, the weapon selection is vast and most bosses can be taken down multiple ways!)
Graphics: The atmospheres and lighting are portrayed beautifully. And the cutscenes are exciting
and vivid.
Storyline: The game is divided into two parts, the Tanker, where
you play as the gruff, cigarette smokin, bandana wearing, Snake who returns for another run at stopping Metal Gear. Then there
is the Plant where you play as the whiny, greenhorn, Raiden. The story is truly spectacular, I won't reveal anything, because
the story is THAT great... However you will meet a cast of unforgettable characters
who will assist of hinder you from your objectives. With all the plot twists and shocking revelations, all I can say
is, expect the unexpected!
Other Factors: The soundtrack will leave you shocked
and craving more, the powerful, and patriotic tunes will stir varying emotions in you. The voice cast is superb, comprised
of professional voice actors, including Phil LaMarr(Vamp) and Jennifer Hale(Emma). The replay value is great, you will find
yourself playing again and again seaching for Dog Tags which will get you many various goodies...
Conclusion: This
is one of the greatest game ever made on the Playstation2. All the factors have been developed flawlessly fusing together
to create a masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty... Sadly, its length is very short... But don't let that stop
you from playing this game, an unforgettable experience!
Rating:
I give it a 9.5 out of 10.0 (A tour-de-force experience that will live on in your memories for years...)
